ASOS leads the way on Pinterest this holiday season

Submitted by on December 5, 2013 – 10:09 amNo Comment

While social media itself is not making particularly big waves this shopping season, individual networks are showing signs of growth. Pinterest, in particular, is boasting a 17% increase in referral growth compared to 2012, and a not-too-shabby average order value of $95.30.

According to Searchmetrics, ASOS is the most popular UK retail site when it comes to having content shared on Pinterest, with an average 1,728 shares per week. Amazon follows with 1,233 and John Lewis with 791. ASOS also boasts over 48,000 Pinterest followers, over five times greater than the nearest other retailer (Next, with just over 9,000).

Much of this success can be attributed to retailers taking the time to set up festive-themed boards and promotions in the run up to Christmas – not a groundbreaking move but one that worked particularly well for retailers last year.
