Infographic: The 1357% rise in social media jobs

Just five years ago, job titles such as social media manager, coordinator, consultant or specialist were met with raised eyebrows and an assumption that those brandishing such labels merely spent their days surfing the net. Now though, social media as a career industry accounts for a huge portion of the jobs market, and telling someone you work in the biz is as straightforward as saying you work in accounting (well, it might elicit a slightly more enthusiastic response).

Since the beginning of 2010, jobs involving social media have exploded by 1357%, centering around five main cities and countries. This infographic, compiled of data from LinkedIn, shows just how central social has become in careers around the globe, and offers some insight into how the numbers break down across the board.
