Old Spice: Most successful viral yet, or just the manliest?

Over the past few months, Old Spice has captured the hearts of millions through a viral video campaign that combined the reach of TV commercials and now the personalization of social media. Could the hunky Old Spice guy, Isaiah Mustafa, be the face (and bod) behind the best viral yet?

The numbers don’t lie: total views on the Old Spice YouTube channel now top 61 million as these humorous vids gets shared across blogs and Facebook, and re-Tweeted to boot. The Twitter feed has more than 71,000 followers and the Old Spice Facebook page has nearly 600,000 lustful followers. Not bad for a “bottom shelf” deodorant brand.

In the past 2 weeks, the numbers of subscribers to the Old Spice YouTube page has doubled, just as Mustafa began posting video responses to fans. Just check out this trend:

YouTube has also awarded the Old Spice channel some serious awards, which are proudly displayed on the page:
