Behold the “vook”

Will our great grandchildren know the discreet pleasure of licking your finger to flip a page? Will they know what a real bookmark feels like? This and similar questions are addressed by Jason Epstein in his New York Review of Books article “Publishing: The Revolutionary Future.”
Epstein, a bibliophile if ever there was one, cautiously sings the praises of what a post-Gutenberg future might look like, examining closely the immediate implications for publishers.
One development is the Vook – a literal conflation of “video” and “book” – which holds a lot of promise for how-to books and social media business interface for organizations or groups that have a fresh insight on their chosen field of expertise to share.
