Report: Brits love Wikipedia, growing tired of MySpace

Submitted by matthew yeomans on July 23, 2008 – 4:46 pmNo Comment

Hitwise this week has released the latest UK traffic ranking for Web 2.0 sites. The breakdown is interesting, if only because we are beginning to see a fair bit of stasis in the market. Yes, Facebook continues to grow (at the cost of Bebo and MySpace). And YouTube is gaining on everybody traffic-wise except Facebook. Wikipedia is the other piece of the UK’s social media triumvirate, having just surpassed MySpace in terms of traffic.

In all, the top 5 Web 2.0 sites – Facebook, YouTube, Bebo, Wikipedia and MySpace – account for one in every 15 UK net visits in June, Hitwise reports.
