That’s what a new book proposal being shopped around New York suggests, according to excerpts published by Gawker.com.

Some key quotes from the proposal which is penned by Ben Mezrich and whose main source the site says is allegedly Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin.

According to Gawker, "In the proposal, author Ben Mezrich
claims that Zuckerberg and his friend Eduardo Saverin started Facebook
to get into a secret society and, of course, to get laid."

Oh, and there’s some stuff in there about an autumn IPO being planned as well but who cares about that?

Another case of a great idea springing from the simplest of needs I guess.
