Online video… by the numbers
Comscore released yesterday the latest stats on U.S. online video viewership. Nearly three-quarters of all U.S. net users viewed video online in March. What does that come to? 11.5 billion videos viewed! Google is the dominant "network", with a 38 per cent share. Who is number two? Fox Interactive at 4 per cent.
Webware breaks it down a bit further. Here’s the graphical picture. (Click to enlarge)
We’ll be dedicating an entire panel session to the growing influence of online video at Social Media Influence on 4 June. On the panel will be Robin Hamman from the BBC, Mireia Fontbernat of Qix.com, Matthew Yeomans, who has overseen a fascinating mobile journalism project for the University of Cardiff, and another name we hope to announce in the coming days.
There is still time to register.
