American Airlines blog – how long before it crashes?

Submitted by matthew yeomans on April 16, 2008 – 4:51 pmNo Comment

We were going to leave the conference agenda up all day today but then I saw a link to this new "official" American Airlines blog and had to write about it.

Can something this bad be real? Whoever has launched the American Airlines (aa conversation) blog is surely flying by the seat of their communication pants (if you excuse the pun).

The blog is thrown together on Blogger (if you click on the profile you can see they played around with another dummy blog first but failed to delete it) and is written in the sort of stiff, embarrassed PR department speak that makes it appear as if it can be genuine…..even though part of me is sure this is a send up.

Even the first ever comment seems fake – anonymous writes on a post about flight delays "Thanks for the details".

Fitting then that AA’s "official" blog launched the same week that its fleet was grounded.

I can’t imagine this will be around for long so I’ve included a screen shot below.
